Rochester City Council, 1992

10’ × 6’ | 305cm × 183cm

In August 1992, Rochester City Council invited us to design a new stained glass window. Measuring 10’×6’. The only design brief was for an “impressive feature, based on some aspect of the Council’s area and history”. This includes the Medway towns: Chatham and Strood as well as the Hoo peninsula.

Our design draws on the richness of this region. An abstract representation of the river [Medway] links the various cultural and historic features.

The window was installed in August 1993 and is located in the Civic Centre, Strood, Rochester, Kent.
