1, 2. Bottom sub-section 32” × 24” | 81cm × 61cm was almost completely broken out. No photographic record could be traced but fortunately the original ‘inch scale’ design was made available to us by a descendent of the original donor.

3. The design, together with the re-assembled fragments, enabled us to draw up a full-size cartoon of the damaged area. From this we were able to paint, stain and kiln-fire more than 60 replacement pieces. Much of the glass was old Hartley Wood streaky which we were able to match from our stock of old glass.
